At Takeda, we believe we have a responsibility to do as much as possible for the health and well-being of people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Guided by our values, Takeda has provided support and expertise to help communities in the fight against COVID-19. With this in mind, we have been assessing philanthropic opportunities to contribute to COVID-19 efforts and scientific-related initiatives.
The national study launched by the Swiss School of Public Health is intended to determine how many people in Switzerland have had COVID-19 and whether recovery from it entails immunity. We believe this is an important initiative that will provide invaluable information to the federal government and cantons as they continually assess how to address the coronavirus pandemic. Likewise, data from this study can help the public authorities to shape appropriate policies as the pandemic evolves, improving the understanding around the impact of the virus and disease implications.
